Skyline Advisors Welcomes Sarah Arnold

Sarah Arnold Financial Planning Associate in BellinghamHello Skyline Friends. I would like to introduce myself to you, as I am the newest member of Skyline Advisors. My name is Sarah Arnold and while I am new to Skyline, I am old to the financial industry.

I attended Western Washington University from 1994 through 1999, with a year off in there somewhere. While attending WWU, I worked at Whatcom State Bank and further Banner Bank. After graduating from Western I was hired by A.G. Edwards here in Bellingham. I learned from the ground up, I guess you could say. It’s amazing how much technology has changed, back then all communication came to me via “wire,” and I don’t think I am that old.

While at A.G. Edwards, I learned all the basics of the operational side of the financial planning industry and was eager to keep learning. It took me a while to convince my manager that I was ready to start studying for my securities licenses but I’m persistent and soon I was studying and then licensed. While at A.G. Edwards, I helped to make the best hire of my career: A (little bit younger) fellow WWU alum interviewed for an assistant position to work alongside me and once she was hired, my longtime friendship with Deka was born! Now, it’s come full circle and our connection helped make it easy for me to transition to Skyline and work with her again.  It was also during the time that I met my really funny husband, BJ. BJ works as a waste engineer at BP and is an extremely proud Coug. (Go Cougs!)

After seven years I left A.G. Edwards, weeks before they were taken over by Wells Fargo, I moved to RBC Wealth Management. I continued the same work at RBC, opening accounts, settling estates, helping clients consolidate their assets and invest their money. During my years at RBC, is when the real crazy in my life happened and my daughter Addie (10) and son Charlie (7) were born.

RBC closed our Bellingham office due to size and I helped to reopen our office the next day as Salish Wealth Management. It was very exciting to learn the ins and outs of opening an independent financial firm.

I am excited to meet you all and soon call you my friends as well.

~Sarah
